  2.           Critical Mass Concepts Software License

  4. Valid for software pre-dating December 1991.

  6. In the following license description CMC refers to Crtitical Mass 
  7. Concepts, 'the software' refers to the item of software supplied 
  8. and bound by this license.
  9.  
  10. The License is divided into the categories Public Domain and 
  11. Shareware, later versions will contain further catagories. The 
  12. software is covered by the License originally distributed with 
  13. the software. This License is valid with all software copyrighted 
  14. up to and including December 1991. For example a piece of software 
  15. which says "Copyright (C) 1990" is valid, one which says "Copyright 
  16. (C) December 1991" is also valid; whereas ones dated "Copyright (C) 
  17. 1992" or "Copyright (C) March 1992" are not covered by this license.
  18. Distributing CMC software without a correctly dated or altered 
  19. license is illegal as you are infringing the authors copyright.

  21. The License covers more than one type of software, please refer 
  22. to the section that covers the type of software obtained. This is 
  23. normally described in the documentation or by the software 
  24. itself.

  28. If the software supplied is described in it's documentation as 
  29. Shareware the following section applies :-

  31. All CMC Shareware software may be copied without restriction as 
  32. long as it is not altered in anyway (excluding archiving or 
  33. compaction). Distribution of this software in a modified form, 
  34. especially if this license is not included infringes the
  35. copyright; and is therefore illegal. It would be preferred if 
  36. Public Domain Libraries and other distributors at least registered 
  37. with CMC.

  39. Should you wish to distribute a modified (eg. translated) version 
  40. of this software please send a copy to CMC, if it is suitable we 
  41. will explicitly authorize copying of that version.

  43. Shareware software requires that users pay contributions (as 
  44. specified in the documentation) if they find the software useful. 
  45. Although personal use without payment will not necessarily be 
  46. counted as an infringement, usage on a large scale (ie. 
  47. throughout a company etc.) will be deemed to be an infringement 
  48. of the License and therefore of the copyright if payments are not 
  49. made. So keep life simple and cough up the money, we supply 
  50. software for very low prices so help us to continue doing so.

  54. All CMC software described as Public Domain in it's documentation 
  55. is covered by this section of the license.

  57. CMC Public Domain software may be copied freely. If modifications 
  58. are made the software may be redistributed as long as 
  59. responsibility for the changes is acknowledged, CMC is 
  60. described as the original source and this license is supplied. 
  61. The exception to this is commercial usage, if any CMC Public 
  62. Domain software is to be used in any software that is not Public 
  63. Domain itself authorization must be gained from CMC first.
